Notre-Dame de Nice: Nocturnal Metamorphosis. 2024

This work presents a visionary reinterpretation of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Nice. Within the artist’s distinctive aesthetic of “Spiralcism,” historical architecture appears not as a static monument, but as a living, pulsating organism.

Under the cover of night, the familiar geometry of the façade begins to transform. Architectural forms bend, intertwine, and evolve into organic structures. An orange-golden glow contrasts with the deep blue of the night, while the stained-glass windows leave their traditional positions and transform into luminous spheres, like elements of an autonomous ecosystem orbiting the basilica.

Here, real architecture serves as the point of departure for an imagined reality in which the boundary between stone, light, and living form gradually disappears. The basilica seems to continue its existence according to its own laws: it grows, moves, and changes together with the space around it. Night becomes the moment of metamorphosis, when the familiar appearance of Notre-Dame de Nice gives way to another reality — fantastical, alive, and yet still recognizable.
